What this site is all about...I started this website in September of 2004 because I love the hurdles and I knew there were plenty of others out there like me, who feel that this beautiful, artistic event that requires so much hard work and dedication too often takes a backseat to Track and Field’s “glamor” events. My purpose in maintaining this site is for it to be a place where hurdlers and hurdle coaches of all ages, levels of experience, and levels of ability, can go to exchange ideas about training methods, technical problems, and to discuss issues relevant to the hurdling events. This site is a place where we can discuss personal experiences in the world of hurdling that will serve the purpose of educating and/or inspiring other hurdlers and/or coaches who are going through similar experiences. Hurdling isn’t for everybody, and there’s a reason for that. Hurdle racing, and especially hurdle training, is very demanding, and, often, very frustrating. Those of us who have made the choice to try to make the best of ourselves in the hurdle events have to stick together and support each other, even if, somewhere down the road, we end up competing against each other. That’s what this website is all about. |
