Coaches:
Blane Williams- The Heat Track Club - Over the last 8 years his athletes have won 289 national medals. Of those medals, over 35 national medals are in the hurdles, including several national records.Tony Dunning ran hurdles in high school and for the United States Marines Corp. He has been coaching hurdles for 15 years, first as a coach for Gazelle Track Club and currently for the First Light Track Club. Coach Dunning has coached dozens of local, state and national champions including national record holders Ayla Alvaranga and Trey Charles. Coach Dunning's philosophy for coaching hurdles is comprised of a bottom-up pyramid approach with teaching the fundamentals at the bottom and actually competing at the top.
Steve McGill-Hurdlesfirst.com- Coach McGill has coached hurdles for clubs and private schools for 16 years he has coached beginners to world champions and now operates the nation’s premier website on hurdles. He is considered by all a subject matter expert on hurdles. High school athletes he’s worked with include Johnny Dutch (13.46, 36.09, 50.07), Booker Nunley (13.41, 37.99, 53.14), Wayne Davis (13.08), and Cameron Akers (14.21, 38.74). Steve also coached several independent school state champions on his school team
