Johnny Dutch – Dutch, a senior at Clayton High School in Clayton, NC, will be eighteen years old in 2007. Thus far in 2007, Dutch broke the national record in the 55m hurdles in his first meet - the Eastern High School Challenge at UNC-Chapel Hill - with a time of 7.07. As a junior, Dutch at the North Carolina State Athletic Association Indoor Championships on 2/11/06, Dutch ran a time of 7.13, which led the nation andshattered the old state record of 7.22. He finished 3rd at the Nike Indoor Nationals in Maryland in March of 2006 in the 60m high hurdles, with a time of 7.80. Outdoors, Dutch won the NCHSAA State title in the 110m hurdles (13.55) and in the 300m hurdles (36.60). At the Nike Outdoor Championships in June of 2006, Dutch won the 110m hurdles in 13.54 into a 1.6 meters per second headwind. He also won the 400m hurdles in 50.97, but was later disqualified for hooking. Dutch was also a double hurdle winner at the Youth National Championships at NC A&T in Greensboro, NC in July of 2006. He then won the 110m hurdles at the Russel Blunt Invitational a week after representing the United States at the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational in Puerto Rico, where he won the 400m hurdles in 51.72 and ran on two winning relay teams.Dutch has won USATF Junior Olympic national championships in the 80 meter hurdles as a twelve-year-old, the 100 meter hurdles and 200 meter hurdles as a fourteen-year-old, and in the 110 meter hurdles and 400 meter hurdles as a sixteen-year-old. In his freshman year of high school, Dutch tied the national freshman record in the 110m hurdles with a 14.16 to win the 4A NCHSAA state championship. As a sophomore in high school, he was one of the best high school hurdlers in the country. He finished the year ranked among the top five in the nation in both the 110 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. His personal bests are 7.13 in the 55m hurdles, 7.80 in the 60m hurdles, 13.54 in the 110m hurdles, and 51.72 in the 400m hurdles. Dutch will be attending the University of South Carolina in 2007-08, where he will major in Film Studies and further pursue his track career under the guidance of highly-respected hurdling coach Curtis Frye.

Wayne Davis – Davis, a sophomore at Southeast High School in Raleigh, NC, will be sixteen in 2007. In 2006 Davis made the big leap from the 33” hurdles to the 39” hurdles. In indoor competition, Davis ran a personal best in the 55m hurdles every time out. At the Eastern Challenge at UNC-Chapel Hill on 1/22/06, he ran 8.10, then ran 7.91 at the Clemson Indoor Invitational at Clemson University on 1/29/06, and then ran 7.84 at the North Carolina State Athletic Association Indoor Championships on 2/11/06. Outdoors, Wayne's highlights included a 2nd-place finish in the 110m hurdles (14.53) at the USA Youth Outdoor Championships at NC A&T University in Greensboro, NC in early July of 2006. He then went on to earn a 1st-place finish in the intermediate boys division at the USATF Region III Championships in Atlanta, GA (14.18). Then two weeks later at the Russell Blunt Invitational at Duke University in Durham, NC, Davis won again in 14.24. At the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at the end of the month, Davis finished second in the 110's, tying his personal best of 14.18. In 2005, as a fourteen-year-old, Davis finished second at nationals in the 100 meter hurdles, and also made it to nationals in the 200 meter hurdles. As a twelve-year-old, Davis was a national champion in the 80 meter hurdles. His personal bests are 7.84 in the 55m hurdles and 14.18 in the 110m hurdles.

Doug Onuscheck – Onuscheck, a junior at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC, is the only member of Hurdles First Track Club whose specialty event is not the hurdles. Although Onuscheck has run the 110m and 300m hurdles in school meets, his specialty is the high jump. Thus far in 2007, Onuscheck finished first in the high jump at the North Carolina Eastern High School Challenge at UNC-Chapel Hill with a jump of 6'6". In 2006, Onuscheck won the USATF Region III intermediate boys high jump championship with a jump of 6'3", then went on to finish 9th at the National meet in Baltimore. At the USA Youth Outdoor Championships, Onuscheck finished 2nd at 6'2.75". In the indoor season of 2006, Onuscheck finished first in the high jump at the North Carolina Eastern High School Challenge in January of 2006 with a jump of 6’4”, and he finished 2nd at the Volunteer Classic in Knoxville, TN on 2/11/06. In 2005, after winning the intermediate age group high jump at the USATF North Carolina State Association Championships with a jump of 6’2”, Onuscheck was unable to compete at the regional championships due to a prior commitment. Onuscheck will compete in the high jump at the Nike Indoor Nationals in March of 2007. His personal bests are 6'6" in the high jump and 42.21 in the 300m hurdles.

Booker Nunley -- Nunley, a junior at Garner Magnet High School in Garner, NC, will be seventeen years old in the 2007 season. Thus far in 2007, Nunley finished 5th in the 55m hurdles at the Eastern High School Challenge in Chapel, Hill, NC. Nunley's time of 7.56 was fast enough to qualify him for the Nike Indoor Nationals that will take place in March 2007. In 2006, Nunley finished third in the intermediate boys 110m hurdles at the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals in Baltimore in 14.29. Earlier in the summer, Nunley finished 2nd in the 110m hurdles at the USATF Region III Championships in 14.30. He also finished 2nd at the Russell Blunt Invitational in 14.37. In the 400m hurdles, Nunley finished second at the Blunt meet in 55.86, and first at the Region III meet in 56.31. He has personal bests of 14.29 in the 110m hurdles and 55.86 in the 400m intermediate hurdles.

James Robinson -- Robinson, a junior at Wakefield High School in Raleigh, NC, will be seventeen in 2007. In 2006, Robinson competed in the intermediate boys 400m hurdles at the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships in Baltimore, but did not qualify for the finals, finishing 15th overall in 57.90. He finished 4th in that race at the Russell Blunt Invitational in a time of 57.45. At the USATF Region III Championships, Robinson finished third in 56.68. At the USA Youth Championships, Robinson finished 6th in 56.40 - his fastest time of the season and his personal best. Robinson also competes in the 110m hurdles, the 400m dash, and the 800m run.

Christopher Herring -- Herring, a sophomore at Knightdale High School in Knightdale, NC, will be seventeen in 2007. Herring runs the 100m dash, 200m dash, and 110m high hurdles.

David Coe – Coe, a freshman at Wakefield High School in Raleigh, NC, will be fifteen in 2007. In 2006, competing in the 13-14-year-old age group, Coe finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles in 13.73. He also finished fifth in the 200m hurdles in a time of 26.36. At the Russell Blunt Invitational he was a double winner, as he earned first-place finishes in the 200m hurdles (26.43) and the 100m hurdles (13.94). At the USATF Region III Championships in Georgia, he won the 200m hurdles in 26.50, and finished second in the 100m hurdles in 13.99. At the USA Youth Championships, he finished third in the 100m hurdles (13.74) and in the 200m hurdles (25.97). Coe ran youth track for the first time in 2005, as a thirteen-year-old, and qualified for nationals in the 100 meter hurdles. His personal bests are 13.73 in the 100m hurdles, and 25.97 in the 200m hurdles. In 2007 he will be making the transition to the 39-inch hurdles over the 110m distance, and to the 36-inch hurdles over the 400m distance.

Malcolm Nunley -- Nunley, brother of Booker Nunley, is a freshman at j Garner Magnet High School in Garner, NC, and will be fifteen in 2007. In 2006, Nunley competed in the 200m hurdles, the 200m dash, and the 400m dash. At the Russell Blunt Invitational he finished seventh in the 100m dash (12.04) after tying his personal best of 11.86 in the prelims. He also finished fifth in the 200m dash (24.02), and third in the 400m dash (53.35 ). At the USATF Region III Championships he finished 4th in the 400, barely missing qualifiying for Nationals, and he finished 7th in the 200.At the USA Youth Championships he finished fifth in the 400m dash in 52.57, seventh in the 200m hurdles, seventh in the 200m dash in 24.04 (after running 23.83 in the prelims), and eighth in the 100m dash in 11.93 (after running 11.81 in the prelims). His personal bests are 52.57 in the 400, 23.83 in the 200, 11.81 in the 100, and 27.41 in the 200m hurdles. In 2007, Nunley will move up to the 400m hurdles, and will continue to run the sprints.

Josh Dunston – Dunston, a seventh grader, will be thirteen years old in 2006. Last year, as a twelve-year-old, Dunston finished third at the National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in the 80m hurdles, crossing the line in a time of 12.23. In 2006, Dunston will be moving up in age group and competing in the 100m hurdles for the first time.

Marquise Sanders – Sanders, a sixth-grader, will be twelve years old in 2006. Last year, 2005, was his first year running youth track. He qualified for the regional championships in the 80 meter hurdles, but not nationals. We are expecting him to compete for the national championship in 2006.

Trevon Sanders – Sanders, younger brother of Marquise, who will be eleven in the 2006 season, is entering his first year of hurdling in youth track.

Jacquanda Wright -- Wright just finished her sophomore year at East Wake High School. She has a personal best of 15.88 in the 100m hurdles and is improving every day.

Brandalyn Furr -- Furr just finished her sophomore year at Sanderson High School in Raleigh, NC. Brandy has personal bests of 15.9 in the 100m hurdles and 47.5 in the 300m hurdles.

Dannielle Davis – Davis, a seventh-grader, will be thirteen years old in 2006. She has been hurdling in youth track for two years. In her first year, as an eleven-year-old, she qualified for the national championships in the 80 meter hurdles. In 2005, as a twelve-year-old, she qualified for nationals again, this time finishing fourth overall. In 2006, she will be moving up to the 100m hurdles. Her personal best is 12.59 in the 80m hurdles (30”), which she ran to win the Russell E.
